The MiFID II Share Trading Obligation

I posted a short "explainer" on LinkedIn about the MiFID Share Trading Obligation and the exodus of trading in European shares from the City of London at the beginning of the year. It also covers the response of the UK Government and FCA in the intervening months.

"All of which brings us to Britain's real share trading problem and it's the same one faced by the EU: the unassailable and increasing pre-eminence of New York as the investment capital of the world. There can be little doubt that, if Amsterdam can claim to be the immediate beneficiary of the whole Brexit/STO upheaval, in the longer term it will be New York.
